RESIGN FROM YOUR OLD SELF—OR DIE A STRANGER TO WHO YOU COULD HAVE BEEN

At some point in your life, you must resign—not from a job, not from a relationship, but from the person you no longer are. The old version of you served its purpose. It carried you through. It did what it was meant to do. But it is tired. It is done. Let it go.

At some point, you need to accept something most people will never have the courage to face: You are not the person you were five years ago. You are not the person they think you are. And you are not even the person you pretend to be.

And the longer you hold onto this old version of yourself, the one built on past choices, outdated beliefs, and the expectations of others, the longer you will delay the person you were actually meant to become.

LET ME BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU:

At some point in your life, you need to resign: Not from a job. Not from a relationship. Not from the world. But from the person you no longer are.

Take a look around, how many people in your circle do you know who are exactly the same as they were five years ago? Same beliefs, same thoughts; same excuses. Same old story on repeat.

Now look deeper, are they alive or are they just functioning?

Truth be told, growth isn’t just something that happens, it’s something you choose. It’s something you demand. Growth is something you fight for, every damn day.

The 99% of the people you see, are still where they were five years ago, because they are still afraid of the space in between.

The space between who they were and who they could become. Scared of the space where things feel uncertain, unfamiliar, and out of control. The space where you don’t have a title, a label, a role to play. This is the space you will find the 1% of the people you don’t see.

RESIGN FROM WHO YOU WERE AND BECOME WHO YOU WERE MEANT TO BE

Remember. The old version of you, got you where you are, but if you are to move beyond, you must resign from your old self.

That version of you served its purpose. It got you here. It carried you through. It did what it was meant to do.

But it is done. It is tired. Let it go, not with resentment. Not with anger. Not with regret. But with honour.

Honour the version of yourself that got you here. Honor the struggles, the battles, the survival. Honor the choices that made sense at the time.

And then? Gently, lay them to rest. Because you cannot become who you are meant to be while clinging to who you used to be. You cannot build the future while dragging the corpse of your past behind you. You cannot live while refusing to let yourself be reborn.

So, here’s your choice, hold on and stay exactly where you are. Or resign and become something greater than you ever imagined.
