The undeniable truth, we only have one life, one truth, a finite journey with a singular chance to make ends-meet. In the grand tapestry of existence, as you reflect on the ephemeral nature of life, it becomes evident that seizing opportunities is not just significant but imperative.
Life unfolds in seasons, much like the ebb and flow of tides, there are times for creation and destruction, as there will be time for mourning and healing. Yet, like time, opportunity marches on relentlessly. Before you know it, you are in the autumn of your life, contemplating where the years have gone and how opportunity has vanished.
My personal history stands as a testament to this fleeting nature of time, nothing stays as was, everything pass-by, and bye they go. Not long ago, I was one among many who lived a destitute life, a street kid on the streets of Lusaka, lacking both shelter and sustenance.
It was then, as I gambled on my last penny that I grasped the fleeting nature of time and understood the urgency of seizing the opportunities before hand. Life has to offer.
Nearly two decades has past, last I slept under a cold pavements. Now I recognise the critical importance of embracing change and grabbing on to opportunities. To be honest, the world is full of benevolent souls, but it requires a discerning eye to recognise these pivotal moments as precious and irreplaceable.
Many individuals, you and I alike, remain ensnared by our own vanities, unable to seek help when it is offered. Life must not endure this way, you must realise, life is a marketplace brimming with opportunities for those bold enough to ask.
We all have foregone opportunities we should have seized. Mistakes are an intrinsic part of the human condition; hence, self-reproach serves no purpose. Beauty and ugliness are not polar opposites but facets of our existence, one that shaped our choices.
Like death, seizing the moment is impartial, leaving it to chance is naive.
As a peace offering, embrace self-belief, learn from each mistake, and strive for progress. Opportunities like death, with her own inscrutable wisdom, offers no reprieve nor second chances. Once the candles are extinguished, it cannot be relit. Seize the moment, grab your chances.
Remember, when you are old and broke, there are no birthdays, no celebrations – only the unavoidable certainty of departure, wishing you should have done right when you had the time. Right now, you have all the tools you need to shape your reality. Every breath must count, every step adding on to the next walk. Every connection presents an opportunity to advance yourself.
As time slips away, you must ask yourself, what will they remember me for?
When death approaches, will it be a life fully realised or a story left unfinished? When you depart, you must have no unfinished. The power to redefine your reality lies within, the choice to act is yours and yours alone.
Ultimately, there is no greater regret than the version of yourself that squandered the gift of time. Hence the Angel sings:
- Life’s opportunities are like shooting stars—brief and fleeting; seize them before they vanish.
- Mistakes are stepping stones on your journey of progress, make more of them.
- In the grand tapestry of existence, you have but one life, and it’s a one-way ticket.
- Don’t let pride prevent you from seeking help; life is a marketplace of opportunities.
- Time leaves its mark on us all; it’s how we embrace those changes that matters.
- Death offers no second chances; once your time is up, it’s up.
- There is no heaven or hell. Every breath is heaven, failure to breathe is hell.
- The greatest regret is wasting the time you, hoping there is more to gain.
- Life is a journey, and each stop is an opportunity to make a note, mark your legacy.
- Your legacy is a choice, one written by your actions and inactions.
